Welcome from our principal
“Welcome to Lucas Heights Community School – the best school in NSW.
We are proud to offer a truly unique learning environment, providing a seamless K–12 education all on one campus. This structure means that students experience less stress during the transition to high school, while enjoying the security of familiar surroundings and strong connections with peers and staff. It also allows our primary students to access the specialist resources and facilities that are usually reserved for high school students, giving them opportunities not available in most other schools.
Across the high school years, students benefit from outstanding curriculum offerings. Despite our relatively small senior cohorts of 60–100 students, we are able to provide a broad HSC curriculum with up to 30 subjects available. Where a subject cannot be offered within the timetable, our Learning Commons provides both a modern study hub and the opportunity to enrol in Distance Education courses, ensuring that no pathway is closed to our students. These tailored opportunities, combined with dedicated teaching, have led to outstanding HSC results year after year.
One of the highlights of our community is the way we foster cross-campus programs. For example, our Stage 6 Sport Coaching students run sport-based programs with our primary classes, building leadership skills while inspiring younger students. Our Child Studies students support major school events such as Kindergarten transition, where they provide a crèche for preschool children attending. These initiatives create meaningful experiences that strengthen connections across all age groups.
Our facilities are second to none. With state-of-the-art classrooms, a purpose-built amphitheatre, an all-weather running track, upgraded basketball courts, and even brand-new pickleball courts, our students learn and play in an environment designed to bring out their very best.
As Principal, I can confidently say that if I had the chance to send my own children to this school, I would – without hesitation. There is simply no better education on offer anywhere else.
I warmly welcome you to explore all that Lucas Heights Community School has to offer, and I look forward to sharing our journey with you.”
Julie Adams, Principal of Lucas Heights Community School
