What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Our School Canteen offers a healthy, extensive menu.

To view the menu click here.

To place an order, either submit your order via the Flexischool app, in a paper bag with the details on the front and payment secured inside, or alternatively, your child can place their order direct with the canteen.

Uniforms

Please see our Primary and High School handbooks for more information.

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities
  • is suitable for all body shapes

Shoe requirements

Please be aware that it is a work health and safety (WHS) requirement for all students in NSW government schools to wear leather shoes. We strongly advise that when buying shoes, you ensure that they have a solid rubber sole and strong leather upper. The wording 'leather upper' should appear on the shoe otherwise, the shoes will not comply. For Lucas Heights Community School, our uniform policy requires students to wear completely black leather shoes. This incorporates both the shoe upper, and a black sole to the shoe.  Unfortunately, WHS and wearing leather shoes are not an area of compromise and can't be negotiated. Under WHS laws, teachers can be liable and incur a fine.

We seek your support to uphold our learning expectations and uniform standards and reflect the values we show as both a school and a community.
