Dear families, we have just received communication from Council that building works on the park adjacent to our school will commence on 2 July (first weekend of school holidays).
This means that the proposed area will no longer be available for overflow parking. Temporary fencing will be going up at that time. Street parking remains an option, as does parking near church or elsewhere and walking your child up.
Changes to routine have the potential to cause confusion and dangerous behaviour as students enter and exit the site. To this end, we have been addressing school assemblies weekly about safe behaviour around walking out, not riding bikes and scooters on crossings and exiting away from carparks.
From the beginning of next term, we will be locking the side gates near the Junior Hall and the side gate leading from K-6 carpark, opposite the admin block. This will funnel the students through the front double gates and allow for better oversight. Parents with students who have mobility needs have been briefed about new arrangements already. If you have any queries, please contact the relevant Deputy Principal.
