Monday – 30 May
Starting off the week with a bang of colour, the LHCS community began with promoting acceptance towards the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Intersex, queer gender and queered sexual preference community. This comprised of a speech from our safe school coalition ambassadors and a rainbow mufti day where each grade was assigned a colour of the LGBTIQ+ flag. Next time you visit LHCS please be sure to check out our freshly painted quadrangle stairs! Days like these ensure that a student who is enrolled in LHCS will graduate with a strong grounding in tolerance and inclusiveness; valuable traits to have in our modern society.

Tuesday – 31 May
Tuesday saw LHCS dedicate their time to raise awareness for depression and anxiety. Students were encouraged to wear a blue accessory and provide a gold coin donation in support of the Beyond Blue foundation.

Wednesday – 1 July
On Wednesday, Lucas Heights wore a pink accessory to highlight the prevalence of breast cancer. The SRC's bake sale proved a huge success, as a school community we raised over $150 for the McGrath Foundation!

Thursday – 2 July
Thursday's ‘Helping the Homeless' saw the Lucas Heights community provide more tangible assistance to those experiencing hardship in these cold winter months. The hard working SRC organised a food drive to support ‘Exodus Foundation's Winter Appeal' to help feed the growing number of homeless people living in Sydney. We thank all involved for their wonderful generosity in bringing canned foods to school.

Friday – 3 July
On Friday the Lucas Heights High School students were educated on the disease Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease in which nerve cells in the brain and spine are damaged. The high school students competed against a strong teacher ensemble in a game of volleyball. There was a gold coin donation for students and teachers to watch and / or participate in the match. As always, the students were victorious.
