LHCS rugby league team attended a program run by NRL Ambassador - David Simmons (Panthers/Sharks). David shared some insights about life and professional sport.
Students were encouraged to develop two 'plan A's', if they want to pursue a rugby league career. This is due to the fact that unfortunately injury or bad timing may take away a rugby career very quickly. Players were encouraged to prepare for life after football - as only 5% of rugby league players end up working in and around football.
Players were taught to develop their dreams and share them with at least two trusted adults so that they can begin to develop a strong support network to help them through the ups and downs of life. This is important in sport and in life.
David showed students fitness, skills and drills that will help them be ready for football in 2016. LHCS are looking forward to their League games this year. The players who participated in the NRL ambassadors program would like to thank Mr Zietsch for organising the incursion. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all students
