The Lucas Heights Community School difference

K-12 Setting

Continuity, consistency and constancy. Enrol your child in ONE school for their entire educational journey! We offer high-quality, responsive teaching for all of your children’s academic, social and developmental needs from Kindergarten right through to Year 12, including learning support programs, High Potential/Gifted Education programs, VET courses and end of schooling pathways. At Lucas Heights we know, value and care for our students throughout all transitions, whether from pre-school to ‘big’ school, K-2 (infants) to 3-6 (primary), from primary school to high school, high school to work or high school to tertiary education.

We are a one-stop shop for educational excellence.

Wellbeing

At Lucas Heights our educational philosophy is underpinned by a strong focus on the development of the whole child. Our school ethos includes highlighting core personal/school values that hold students in good stead throughout their lives: respect, responsibility and active learning. Every day our educators make the effort to support our students in feeling a sense of belonging. We acknowledge, celebrate and support our students’ individuality through a culture of acceptance, tolerance, inclusivity and diversity. This philosophy can be seen in our All Shades of Deadly, Deadly Kids and PRISM groups.

We are always working towards students connecting, succeeding and thriving.

Curriculum Focus

Curriculum is our core business as educators. Lucas Heights Community prides itself on being at the forefront of new curriculum, evidence-based pedagogy and data-informed practices. Our teaching and learning experiences are carefully planned and implemented to tailor for the wide range of learner needs in our classrooms and stage cohorts. The faculty are regularly attending internal and external professional learning to stay abreast of education research and beneficial tools. This dedication to best practice is particularly evident in our learning support and high potential/gifted education programs.

We are dedicated to high-quality, ‘point of need’ teaching that supports students to reach their full potential.
